Susan Novich finds inspiration in the tiny scraps of paper that other (perhaps more rational) people would likely throw away. An author/illustrator whose debut picture (board) book will be published by Schiffer Publishing Fall/Winter 2020, Susan has a B.A. — in conjunction with the MFA School of Boston, MA — in Communications/Graphic Design from Simmons College as well as a certificate in Children’s Book Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
A member of SCBWI since 2004, Susan’s work has been sold at RISD Alumni shows and has been seen in exhibitions in Pittsburgh PA, Wellesley, MA, Providence, RI, and Falmouth, MA. The mother of three grown children, Susan founded Susabean Studio in 2012, where she created a line of greeting cards, designed licensing for the home goods market and worked with clients on custom illustration and calligraphy projects. Susan lives in Providence, RI with her husband, Bruce and dog, Coco, a rescued Havanese. Susan is thrilled to be represented by Anna Olswanger at Olswanger Literary.
